Meet the 2011 Miss Shamrock Contestants and
why they want to be Miss Shamrock 2011

Abbi I think that I will make a great Miss Shamrock because I value my heritage, and what that means. I come from an Irish family and that is very important to me. I put my family first because they are so important to me. I would fulfill the duties that I may encounter if I became Miss Shamrock. When I commit to something I put what I have into, and want to make sure that things are done right.

Joanie I know I am a great candidate for the role of Miss Shamrock because of my immense pride in my Irish heritage and my commitment to spreading my Irish cheer. As I am aware, Irish culture focuses so much on the community, and I personally try to keep my self active and involved in the community to which I belong. During my undergraduate years of college I studied in Limerick, Ireland learning a lot about traditions, music, folklore, literature and much more. It fills me with great excitement to go out into the community and meet new people while volunteering for a great cause, which is why I am excited to get involved with the St. Patrick's Association.

Kara Family has always been important to me because over the years I’ve learned that family is the key to happiness. I was fortunate enough to have been able to run last year and learned that being with the other princesses and association members is just like an extended family. I think the best part about family is that the more the merrier and I am always ready to welcome new members to the family. If I am worthy enough to be chosen as Miss Shamrock for 2011, I would do all in my power to make sure everyone whom we associate with feels like family and that the St Patrick’s Association is shown in the best light possible to the community.

Maggie It's not even that I would make a great Miss Shamrock, it's that my glittering personality and my smiling Irish eyes would light up St. Paul. I would love to be a part of the Irish community and bring joy to those I could influence. I was also born in a pot of gold.
Maureen I've got a strong connection to the Irish American community and appreciate our history and the local people across the State who are proud to be Irish; through family lines or anyone who claims any bit of Irish. I love the glint in every Irish person's eye. I would carry the spirit of my own Irish mother as my inspiration.
Meaghan (S)incere girl from St. Paul (H)ospitable to one and all (A)iming to gather neighborhood community (M)aking friends through Irish cheer (R)ocking a Guinness beer (O)utgoing is the way to be (C)learly fun and festive is me (K)indly, lets raise the cross to good ole' patron St. Patrick!
Melinda I am and will continue be an active/involved member of our community. I am a jack of all trades - I would like to add this to my list! I will put the ROCK in Miss. Shamrock! =)
Natalie I'm a typical Irish woman; strong, proud, outgoing, friendly, cheerful, loyal, stubborn a bit at times if I must admit it and have the gift of gab. Through my leadership experiences and community outreach work in other areas I've lived, I've come to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone that crosses my path. Everyone has an interesting story to tell so why not listen, right? I'm passionate about the activities I get involved with, and Miss Shamrock would be no exception! I'd love to represent the St.Patrick's Association and Saint Paul as Miss Shamrock and believe I'd do so with grace and wit

Shoshana A friendly person

Tegan I believe that I would make an Amazing Miss Shamrock because I am very proud of my Irish Background and not afraid to express it. As Miss Shamrock I wouldn’t hesitate to spread the Irish energy and represent the Irish heritage within the Community. As Miss Shamrock I would be outgoing, extremely friendly, passionate, and motivated to get the community involved and excited for St. Patrick day events and the parade.
