Hi
- My name is Ashley! I have always been proud of my Irish heritage
but after the past few weeks of being out and about in the Saint
Paul community with my fellow Miss Shamrock contestants and the rest
of the Saint Pat's Association it's reached a whole new level. The
sense of community and even "family" among this great
group has been amazing. It feels just like home, as I am fortunate
to be part of a large, close and very fun extended family that now
numbers over 50! My grandfather passed away a number of years ago
but he was the Irish inspiration for this huge clan and still has a
presence you can feel today. His love of faith, family and Irish
heritage has been passed down and kept strong in his memory.
I feel lucky to be one of the candidates and believe my outgoing
personality, hard work ethic, desire to meet people and have some
fun will serve me and the Saint Pat's Association well... if I am
fortunate enough to be chosen as Miss Shamrock 2009!! |

I
think it would be an honor to be Miss Shamrock. The opportunities that
come with being Miss Shamrock are wonderful. It's always great to give
back to the community. I enjoy being around people and am looking
forward to all the volunteer opportunities that are ahead. Being Irish
and a fond lover of the city of St. Paul I look forward to all the
excitement and wonderful friends I will make by being a part of this
great association. I hope and plan on being involved with the
association for the years to come. |

I would love to be Miss Shamrock, because I
am bursting at the seams with Irish pride. I am proud of my family name,
and I am very proud to be of Irish ancestry. The Irish people have come
so far and overcome a horrific history. We are a hardworking and fun
loving culture, and I sure am glad to be a part of it! I would look
forward to spreading Irish cheer as Miss Shamrock; I think that it would
be a wonderful experience. |

The reason why i want to be Miss
Shamrock is because i think of how rewarding it is. I made a
resolution to myself this year that i was gonna "get out there'
and start doing more adventerous things, and this is just a little
part of my adventure. Along with this comes the rewards of doing
charitable work. I realize that i can't be at every function, and in
my own time i do try to spend my time off going to benefits and
fundraisers. I also have met some wonderful people along the way and
would hope to continue meeting more people and staying friends with
these people. Life is to short to not want to make the best of...
Being Miss Shamrock is only a bonus of a little bit of effort you put
into living and having fun. Plus another excuse to go out and party
like an Irish isn't all that bad either!!! LOL

I want to be Miss Shamrock because it's
always been a very special tradition my Mom, Grandma and I have
shared. My father's side is mostly German/Norwegian, and my Irish
heritage has always been a special thing my Grandma and my Mom shared
with me. I also love meeting new people and making new friends. Being
a part of such a great community and the association is an honor and
I'm very excited to make lots of great memories with a great group of
people.

I come from a proud Irish family that takes
part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade every year. When March comes around
I get so excited for the parade and if I was Miss Shamrock it would be
like celebrating St. Patrick's Day all year. Being Miss Shamrock would
give me the opportunity to be a part of St. Paul's history. I would be
honored to be able to represent St. Paul's Irish community and my own
Irish heritage. |

I want to be Miss Shamrock because I think
it is an excellent opportunity to be more involved with the community
and my Irish family. I have always marched in the St. Patrick's Day
parade, and have always looked up to the Shamrock Princesses. Being
Miss Shamrock, I could inspire all of the little future Irish
Princesses out there! Most importantly I know my Grandma is extremely
proud of me, and smiling down on me from Heaven.

and spreading Irish pride and cheer! I would be honored to represent an

I would like to be Miss Shamrock because celebrating my Irish heritage
has been such a big part of my life for as long as I can remember, and my family has instilled a LOT of Irish pride in me! :) Just being a
part of the St. Pat's Association is such a thrill because it gives me the chance to commemorate my heritage with the people in the community -both Irish and non-Irish. I love being able to take part in the
celebration of Irish culture and traditions and to share those traditions with others, and being part of the St. Pat's Association is a
great way to do that!! |

I would like to become Miss Shamrock 2009 because this would be a great opportunity for me to carry on my Irish heritage. My grandma married into a German family and although I do not have the typical Irish last name, it just means I need to show my Irish pride even louder. I look forward to meeting so many different people and celebrating St. Patty's Day all year round. It would be such an honor to be part of the St. Patrick's Association family and amazing to represent the association as Miss Shamrock!! |
