Mary Lou Brooks   
Brooks, Mary Lou - 1939-2004 Humorist, Writer, Aunt, Sister Passed December 30, 2004. Mary Lou was born in Fargo, N.D., the second child of Senator Lee Brooks and Mary McKone Brooks. She graduated from Fargo Central H.S., and attended the U of Nebraska, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Mary Lou is a graduate of Mills College, Oakland, California and also received a second B.A. from the U of Minnesota. She was employed by McManus John and Adams Advertising Agency and also served as the editor for New Homes Magazine, K.L. Publications and Fingerhut and Target Corporations. In addition Mary Lou contributed to numerous national publications as a freelance writer. At the time of her death she was managing editor of the Irish Gazette newspaper. She will be deeply missed by many friends across North America and Ireland. Mary Lou is survived by sister Margaret (Cyril), Bismarck, N.D.; brothers James (Mary Sue), St. Paul, MN and Robert (Phyllis), Grand Forks, N.D.; 8 nephews; five nieces; and four grand-nephews; and five grand-nieces. Mass of Christian Burial SATURDAY, January 8, 2005, 10:30AM at ST. PETER CLAVER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 375 North Oxford, St. Paul.
