In order to make the event a success, the Association draws together a wonderful group of Irish and should-be-Irish people to form the who's who of Saint Pat's Day. Our organization is 100% volunteer and we raise money to sponsor the parade and pass on the extra profits to local charities.  Read on to learn more about this year's group:

Miss Shamrock
Alongside Mr. Pat sits Miss Shamrock. She is chosen from a group secret judges and crowned the week before Saint Patrick's Day. Miss Shamrock is chosen based on her representation of the Association as a Miss Shamrock Princess.

Distinguished Irish Woman
The Distinguished Irish Woman is, of course, Irish. She has also done outstanding work in her field and in the community. Each year the Association recognizes a hard working Irish woman (is there any other kind?) from the community.

Honorary Irish
Saint Pat's Day may be an Irish holiday, but it's a day for all cultures to enjoy. Each year the Association names a non-Irish member of the community as its Honorary Irish Person. While this person is not necessarily Irish, he or she embodies the spirit and character of the Irish and the holiday.

Miss Shamrock Princesses
Each year the Association invites Irish women 21-and-over to become Miss Shamrock Princesses. The princesses spend six weeks together selling buttons and spreading the Irish cheer. From these princesses the Association chooses the year's Miss Shamrock. The princesses and Miss Shamrock spend the remainder of the year visiting area parades and festivals as representatives of the association.

The Blarney Brothers (click here to sign up)
It wouldn't be an Irish event without a little blarney! The Blarney Brothers are the male counterpart of the Miss Shamrock Princesses. These gents accompany the princesses throughout the six weeks of button blitzing and into the summer festivals and parades.
