I like to think that I am very outgoing and fun person. St Patrick's day is a day of celebration. I feel I would make a great Miss Shamrock because of my sunny outlook on life and my positive attitude. I love to smile and laugh - I feel that whenever somebody smiles or laughs it's infectious. I would love to be the St Patrick's Association's representative, that could help spread the laughs and smiles not only in and around St Paul, but the state as well. |

I would make a great Miss Shamrock because I am very proud of my Irish heritage. I am proud of my Irish roots, especially my areas of interest like improving my Irish jigs, drinking Guinness (especially at St. James Gate, Dublin), traveling to Ireland, and listening to Celtic music. Overall, I would love to represent the St. Patrick's Association during events throughout the year and most especially be able to meet new people and have fun! |

I would like to be Miss Shamrock because through the St. Patrick's Association, it would be a great way to meet new people. I enjoy all things Irish including traveling there with my family as well as with my work and even going to an occasional Notre Dame football game (brother's alma mater). |

Outgoing! Be positive! Energy! Miss Shamrock has to represent the culture and people from Ireland and also to represent what St. Patrick's Day means to people here in America. It's a time to forget about our differences and everyone can just have a beer together. |

I am very proud of my Irish heritage. St. Patrick's Day has always been my favorite holiday, I have been attending the parade since birth. Representing the Irish and the St. Patrick's Association would be a great honor and
privilege for me. |

I
first visited Ireland when I was ten. Second, when I was
twenty-years-old for
a semester in Galway. Third, upon graduation from college before
starting my
career. My intentions at this point were to get my "fix,"
assuming after the
month trip by myself to the Emerald Isle, I wouldn't need to go
again for at
least another five years.
I cried when I landed, seeing the the green fields and stone fences,
and knew as
I flew back to America that Ireland would not be an every
five-years-or-so
visit. It's as much home to me as Minnesota and Nebraska. Nothing in
the world
gets my heart racing like Irish music and scenery. I return on April
1, 2006
for my fourth visit.
I'm running for Miss Shamrock because I know there are other people
like me, who
yearn to hear the Irish music and see the stone walls, and I want to
know what
gets their hearts racing. |

I would love the opportunity to become Miss Shamrock 2006. I was born and raised in St. Paul and currently reside in the Mac-Groveland neighborhood. I have always been involved in St. Paul community events such as the Winter Carnival, Highland Fest, and Grand Ol'Days. I would love to become a part of the action by participating in the Irish Community events. I am very out going and love to interact with all types of people. I would be proud to represent St. Paul for this fun filled celebration. |

MY GRANDFATHER, ROGER CONWAY WAS A FOUNDER OF THE MINNESOTA IRISH FESTIVAL, AND I HAVE SPENT THE LAST 15 YEARS OF MY LIFE WORKING THERE, AND LEARNING ABOUT THE CULTURE. I TOOK A CLASS CALLED HISTORY OF IRELAND. I WORK AT THE MOST IRISH BAR IN ST. PAUL
(O'GARA'S) THROUGH WORKING AROUND THE CULTURE WHETHER IT BE AT THE IRISH FESTIVAL, OR O'GARA'S, I HAVE COME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE IRISH, TO HAVE A GREAT LOVE FOR LIFE, FAMILY, AND A RESPECT FOR YOUR COUNTRY. I BELIEVE THAT THE IRISH WAY OF LIFE EMBODIES A PERFECT BALANCE OF FUN, LOVE, STRENGTH, HAPPINESS, RESPECT, AND FAITH. |
